Sarah Dean

Sarah is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Cornell. Previously, she was a postdoc at the University of Washington and completed a PhD in EECS from UC Berkeley. Sarah is interested in the interplay between optimization, machine learning, and dynamics, and her research focuses on understanding the fundamentals of data-driven control and decision-making. This work is grounded in and inspired by applications ranging from robotics to recommendation systems.

Matthew Johnson-Roberson (University of Michigan)

Matthew Johnson-Roberson is Associate Professor of Engineering in the Department of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. He co-directs the UM Ford Center for Autonomous Vehicles (FCAV) and he founded and leads the DROP (Deep Robot Optical Perception) Lab, which researches 3D reconstruction, segmentation, data mining, and visualization. He received a PhD from the University of Sydney and he has held prior postdoctoral appointments with the Centre for Autonomous Systems - CAS at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and the Australian Centre for Field Robotics at the University of Sydney.

Animesh Garg (University of Toronto, Nvidia, Vector Institute)

I am a CIFAR AI Chair Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto, a Faculty Member at the Vector Institute, and Sr. Researcher at Nvidia. My current research focuses on machine learning for perception and control in robotics.
