The Perfect Use Of An Imperfect Medium: Towards A Morality of AI Art
Adam Cole
Abstract
Can there be a moral use of AI art? Drawing on Oscar Wilde’s reflections on art and ethics, Adam will explore the unique challenges of using generative AI as a medium, and how he seeks to subvert and transcend those limitations in his own creative practice. Along the way, he will highlight AI video works such as Kiss/Crash and Me vs. You, which have been exhibited internationally at festivals like SXSW and galleries like Tate Britain. In doing so, he hopes to invite the audience to reflect on their own journey with these tools, searching for a more perfect use of this imperfect medium.
