Expo Demonstration

From Flat Pixels to Editable Layers: A Live Image-to-Layers System at Production Scale

MR C3.3
[ ] [ Project Page ]
Sun 6 Dec noon AEDT — 2 p.m. AEDT

Abstract:

We demonstrate a production image-to-layers system: hand our system a flat image and watch it come back as a stack of editable objects: live text boxes, native elements you can individually manipulate, and an inpainted background behind whatever was sitting on top of it. This is available publicly as Magic Layers.
The demonstration is built around what attendees can do with it rather than what we can show them. A controlled scenario sets the stage: a set of pre-set flat designs that decompose cleanly at a click, so everyone starts from a working example. From there, Magic Layers is ready to do your bidding. Drop in a meme and the caption lifts off as live text, ready to be personalised for your friend’s birthday roast. Wanting to reimagine your living room? Take a snap, upload to Magic Layers, and move them around before committing to anything. Personalise a motivational poster with your team’s photo to highlight your vision of their success. When you disagree with how Magic Layers breaks up an image, simply click on the objects you want to extract to take control of your destiny.
The system is relevant to anyone working on structured generation, amodal completion, controllable editing and generation, or the general problem of getting a generative model to produce something a downstream software can actually consume.
