Artificial intelligence has a communications challenge. To create human-centric AI, it is important that XAI is able to adapt to different users. The SciCom field provides a mixed-methods approach that can provide better understanding of users’ framings so as to improve public engagement and expectations of AI systems, as well as help AI systems better adapt to their particular user.
